With his production company, Blue Field Productions, James has directed a variety of projects including documentaries, commercials, PSA’s, music videos and the award winning short film “MAX”. He has honed his directing skills by wearing a variety of hats in the production world including cinematographer, editor and producer.

Directing, however, has always been Jim’s ultimate creative desire and “MAX” his narrative directorial debut. “MAX” swept six awards at LA’s 168-Hour Film Festival, including Best Picture. “MAX” has also been honored as Best Short Film at the Damah Film Festival in Los Angeles, the God on Film Festival in New York City, the Sabaoth International Film Festival in Milan, Italy as well as being an International Cinematographer’s Guild Showcase Award winner and a finalist in the Atlanta International Film Festival.

James is also an Adjunct Professor of Cinematography at The USC School of Cinematic Arts and is currently in development on feature film projects. He is married to Dawn Carson O’Keeffe, a television and film producer, and they have four fabulous kids and reside in Pasadena, CA
